Timo de Jong & Leadbeaters release first joint single "We’re All Gonna Die" and first shows

Thu 24 Apr 2025

Timo de Jong and Amsterdam string band Leadbeaters have released their first joint single, We’re All Gonna Die, via Revanche Records. The release was celebrated with a live performance at the Roode Bioscoop in Amsterdam — the same venue where they first shared the stage. With the release Timo de Jong & Leadbeaters announce the first joint shows.

“I had a gig the same night Leadbeaters were playing there. They invited me to join them for a few songs, and it clicked right away,” says De Jong. Inspired, the collaboration grew into recording music together and planning joint shows for the coming summer and fall, with more releases on the way. De Jong wrote We’re All Gonna Die during the COVID pandemic: “Everything sucked, everyone was dying, and I was stuck at home. The song talks about all the bad news, but with the bright side that eventually, we all die — as morbid as it sounds. The lyrics are dark, but the music is upbeat, and I love that contrast.”

Known for his warm crooner voice and sixties-inspired yet modern sound, De Jong has performed over 800 times, including tours in England. Leadbeaters bring a lively mix of Americana styles with acoustic instruments and rich harmonies, often inviting guest musicians for spontaneous jams. “This time, with Timo’s real ‘songs,’ we actually had to rehearse!” jokes band member Thomas Olivier.
Their first single shows great promise, and more music and shows are already in the works.
