The Bones of J.R. Jones are back in Europe with "Radio Waves"

Jonathon Linaberry, the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist behind The Bones of J.R. Jones, is set to return to Europe in little over a week with an extensive mainland European tour in support of his sixth studio album, Radio Waves. The tour will take him through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and France, with Seba Safe joining the mainland dates as support.

Born and raised in central New York, Linaberry began his musical journey in hardcore and punk bands before discovering the field recordings of Alan Lomax and becoming fascinated by the raw, unvarnished qualities of traditional American blues, folk and gospel. He launched The Bones of J.R. Jones in 2012, developing a distinctive sound that draws from Americana, folk and blues while incorporating elements of rock and electronic music.

Over the past decade, Linaberry has built a reputation as a compelling live performer and independent artist, touring extensively throughout the US and Europe. His music has also found its way into television and film, including True Detective, Suits, Daredevil, Longmire and Graceland. Along the way, he has shared stages with artists including The Wallflowers, G. Love and The Devil Makes Three, while appearing at festivals such as Telluride Blues and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

His latest album, Radio Waves, takes inspiration from Linaberry's childhood fascination with radio and cassette tapes. Recorded in Toronto with producer Robbie Lackritz (Feist, Bahamas), the album combines fingerpicked guitars, stripped-back rhythms and retro synthesizers to create a moody, hypnotic sound. Rather than simply romanticizing the past, Linaberry uses memories of youth, first loves, heartbreaks, mistakes and uncertainty to explore the experiences that shape us.

With Radio Waves adding a new electronic dimension to his roots-oriented sound, the upcoming dates offer a chance to experience The Bones of J.R. Jones both on the mainland and across the UK and Ireland in early 2027.
