Victoria Canal completes line-up for Lockeland Strings' Union Chapel show
Mon 13 Oct 2025On December 5th Lockeland Strings will return for their annual show at the beautiful Union Chapel in London. With the addition of Victoria Canal the line-up is complete. Alongside Victoria Canal the invited artists are Benjamin Francis Lefwich, Ella Hunt and Chris Brain.

Lockeland Strings is a community arts organization that puts on showcases of local artists accompanied by string quintet, alongside performances of new contemporary classical pieces from local composers. With performances from Kacey Musgraves to Lucie Silvas, Lockeland Strings has grown from a house show to now hosting a second concert in London.
Victoria Canal is a Spanish-American singer-songwriter whose journey of self-discovery has taken her from uninhibited teenage confessions to a mature artistic identity. Drawing from a culturally diverse background, growing up in Madrid, and living in cities like Shanghai and Dubai, she honed her craft through classical piano, jazz, and relentless daily journaling. With the release of her debut album, Slowly, It Dawns, Canal blends vulnerable introspection with fearless lyricism, exploring themes from mental health to queer liberation, while garnering acclaim such as the Ivor Novello Rising Star award and performances with Coldplay and Hozier. Her evolution, including an acting debut on Apple TV+’s Little America, reflects a commitment to honesty and a determination that her identity, as an artist with a limb difference and a multifaceted cultural heritage, is defined by her talent and resilience, not a single headline.
Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s fifth album, Some Things Break, marks a quiet but profound evolution in his artistry—trading past restraint for raw emotional honesty and sonic experimentation. Now five years sober, Leftwich reflects on love, loss, and healing with unguarded vulnerability, crafting songs that blend folk roots with fresh, pop-leaning textures. It's the sound of an artist no longer hiding, but fully embracing both the beauty and fragility of life.
Devon born Ella Hunt is multi hyphenate singer, songwriter and actress known for her roles in Dickinson and Saturday Night. She recently released her singles Mother’s Chair and Subway Trash, marking the beginning of a new era for Hunt, produced by Jimmy Hogarth (Anhoni And The Johnson’s, The 1975).
Yorkshire folk artist Chris Brain has earned acclaim for his evocative songwriting and intimate sound, with tracks featured in films like A24’s We Live In Time and support from BBC Radiotastemakers. Following two celebrated albums, he returns in 2025 with New Light—a tender, nature-tinged exploration of change and vulnerability. Blending fingerpicked guitar, lush arrangements, and his signature honeyed vocals, Brain continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary folk.
