Vandoliers announce headline tour this summer

Vandoliers are a Texas-born country-punk band known for their explosive live shows, heartfelt songwriting, and fearless refusal to fit neatly into any genre box. Blending the raw energy of punk with the storytelling tradition of country, they have built a reputation as a band that thrives on connection, catharsis, and community. Now, they are hitting the road with their fifth studio album, Life Behind Bars, bringing its powerful songs and emotional honesty to audiences far and wide.

Life Behind Bars is a landmark record for the Vandoliers. At its core, the album documents a deeply personal chapter in the life of lead singer Jenni Rose, tracing her journey through addiction, sobriety, and gender dysphoria, and ultimately her decision to come out as a trans woman. These themes are woven into songs that feel both intimate and universal, capturing the sensation of feeling trapped—by circumstance, by identity, or by expectation—while still reaching for freedom and joy.

The album’s title track, co-written by Rose alongside Cory Graves, Joshua Ray Walker, and John Pedigo, reflects this shared sense of confinement from multiple perspectives. Whether it’s the grind of touring, the repetition of work, physical incarceration, or internal struggle, the song connects these experiences through a common emotional thread. While Life Behind Bars is more stripped-back and vulnerable than some of the band’s earlier work, it still carries the exuberance, urgency, and sing-along spirit that define the Vandoliers.
