Three-time Grammy-nominated blues powerhouse Ruthie Foster in Europe this month

Three-time Grammy-nominated blues powerhouse Ruthie Foster will return to Europe this month for three special shows, bringing her acclaimed blend of blues, gospel, folk and soul to audiences in England, France and The Netherlands.

Foster’s return comes shortly after the release of her new album Just Say Yes, out August 28 via Sun Records. The album follows her Grammy-winning Mileage, which earned her the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, and reflects another important period of transition in the singer-songwriter’s life.

The title Just Say Yes comes from a handwritten note Foster made years ago when she decided to return to music after stepping away to care for her mother. That simple phrase became a guiding principle throughout a career spanning more than three decades, ultimately leading her from independent artist to Grammy winner.

The new album was recorded in Nashville with Foster’s Mileage collaborators Tyler Bryant and Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe, alongside Megan Lovell and Mike Seal. Drawing directly from Foster’s personal experiences—including a serious knee injury and major changes in her personal life—the songs explore resilience, acceptance, ageing and rediscovering oneself.

“Every last one of these songs are about some aspect of my life,” Foster explains. “This was my way of being true to who I am and knowing that I’m in yet another transition in my life.”

True to Foster’s musical identity, Just Say Yes refuses to stay within a single genre, bringing together blues, gospel, folk, country and soul. Her three European appearances offer a rare opportunity to experience one of contemporary blues’ most compelling voices in an intimate setting.
