The Sadies confirm a run of Spain dates this winter
Thu 07 May 2026The Sadies formed in Toronto in 1994 and quickly became known for a sound that blends classic roots music with adventurous rock ’n’ roll energy. Drawing from country, western, surf guitar, garage rock, psychedelia, and cinematic instrumental traditions, the band developed a style that feels both timeless and unpredictable. Their music is built on strong songwriting, sharp guitar work, and a clear love for genre-crossing experimentation.
Over the years, The Sadies earned a reputation as both a powerful live band and sought-after collaborators. They worked with a wide range of artists including Neko Case, Jon Langford, John Doe, and Gord Downie, expanding their musical world far beyond their own albums. This openness to collaboration and variety became a defining part of their identity, helping them stand out within the alternative country and roots-rock scene.

Following the death of founding member Dallas Good in 2022, The Sadies faced a major loss that deeply impacted the band and their community. Even so, their music continues to carry the spirit of what made them unique: intensity, craftsmanship, and a fearless approach to style. With a legacy built on decades of acclaimed releases and unforgettable performances, The Sadies remain an influential and respected name in modern roots and rock music.
