The Brother Brothers over for the Long Road Festival to be followed with more dates in fall
23-08-2023The Brother Brothers belong to a tradition of sibling harmony outfits that stretches far beyond the Everly Brothers, a chief influence on the duo of Adam and David Moss. An indie folk duo of identical twins that were born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and originally based in Brooklyn, but have been ultimately and profoundly shaped by indiscriminate rambling.
When the Mosses grew up they would often sing along to their dad's collection of music: The Kingston Trio, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and more. “That's where we learned to sing harmony," Adam shares, "and then one thing leads to another. All of a sudden, we could harmonize to anything we wanted to. It was a very natural progression.”
With fingerpicked arpeggios, a splash of funky electric keyboard, and some close harmonies that suggest Simon & Garfunkel over Willie Nelson, the Brother Brothers offer a bittersweet ode to the touring life and days that seem long past. They are the kind of people who have a story about everything, and more so, one you might genuinely like to hear.
