Strung Out & Belvedere to play Burgerweeshuis this week
14-04-2025If early punks can call out 1977 to be the year of grace for the genre, Gen X and Y punks can really say the same for year 1994. Commonly known as the punk revival year, it really was that moment in which punk came back under the spotlight of the world becoming, for better or for worse, popular. It’s now been 36 years since Strung Out, the band from Simi Valley started, celebrated with the release of their 10th album so far named Dead Rebellion, once again for Fat Wreck Chords.
Heavy, dark and visceral, Dead Rebellion is definitely a Strung Out album, it contains all the features the band is famous for. Sounding like one of their most metal, hard rock albums, this record contains something from every phase Strung Out have been through. I felt the same Exile In Oblivion and Blackhawks Over Los Angeles mood for the most of the time, but also serious Twisted By Design throwback with songs like Dystopian Party Bus.
Together with Canadian skate punk favourites Belvedere, Strung Out will hit the stage in Deventer this week:
17/04: Deventer, NL - Burgwerweeshuis
