Strung Out & Belvedere over for two shows in the Netherlands

10-07-2024

Strung Out and Belvedere will be over in the Netherlands for an appearance at Zwarte Cross and a show in Musicon this summer.

Dead Rebellion marked a milestone for Strung Out's 35-year journey. The album embodies a mid-tempo heaviness, prioritizing melody over speed, reflecting societal issues and personal struggles in our technology-driven world. 'Cages,' the lead single, balances melodic and heavy elements while delivering a poignant message. Dead Rebellion symbolizes the band's resilience and evolution amidst challenging times, showcasing their musical prowess and thematic depth.

We got to that point where I felt like if we kept going we’d be repeating ourselves,” explains vocalist Jason Cruz. “And you know, we’re a fucking metal band—a punk metal band—and there’s only so much you can do before people start writing you off as losing your roots or whatever. We all have side projects, so we use those to go into left-field, but I think that this is the most we can do and keep our fan base and actually take them in just a little bit of a slightly different direction. It’s more mid-tempo and more heavy, less worrying about speed. We were trying to be more melodic.”

Canadian skate-punk legends Belvedere will be touring with Strung Out: they are heroes of fast, furious, melodic punk, who’ve never lost sight of their roots. Formed in 1995 and originally never even meant to play a live show, the trailblazing band from Calgary, Alberta quickly grew a reputation on the underground punk scene for their blazing fast speed and melodic vocals.
