Sam Outlaw releases ‘The Nonessential’ and will be over for three NL shows

Wed 09 Apr 2025

Last month Sam Outlaw released new retrospective and B-Sides collection ‘The Nonessential'. This new, twelve-song “anti-greatest-hits-album” The Nonessential, featuring three previously unreleased tracks - including recent single ‘I Never Saw Him Cry’ - and nine previously-released original singles and B-sides released since 2018, in a comprehensive collection designed to showcases his evolution as an artist: a mixed bag of new and old recordings.

Inspired by the works of George Jones, Sam Outlaw ditched his LA Advertising job, took on his late Mother’s maiden name and enjoyed early success with debut album “Angelino” and sophomore”Tenderheart” winning a UK Americana Award for Best International Song along the way. After relocating to Nashville, the recent  “Popular Mechanics” and “Terra Cotta” have a more pop-sounding style that the artist describes as “New Wave Western”. This new album “The Nonessential” contains two new original songs plus a collection of previously released tracks that didn’t find a place on other albums or EPs. All are re-mastered to make their album debut.

With the release there three Benelux shows are coming up:

11/04: Alkmaar, NL - Blue Heart Festival
12/04: Hengelo, NL - Heartland Festival
13/04: Venlo, NL - Down By The River
