November shows for Henry Wagons coming up
Tue 27 Oct 2026Henry Wagons is an Australian musician, and broadcaster with a style all his own. Recognised for his powerful stage presence, rich baritone, and talent for storytelling, he has spent more than two decades building a reputation in Australia’s Americana and alt-country scene. His catalogue includes seven albums with Wagons and three solo releases, combining poetic lyrics with the darker, theatrical side of country music.
Whether performing with a full band, playing an intimate solo set, or bringing his acclaimed Johnny Cash tribute CASH: The American Recordings to the stage, Henry knows how to keep an audience hooked. His shows mix emotional depth with sharp humour and a natural gift for storytelling, moving between live music, cabaret, and personal confession.
Henry’s work extends well beyond the stage. He hosts Tower of Song on Double J (ABC), Australia’s only national radio programme dedicated to Americana and alt-country, and regularly appears on Australian television.
In 2025, he teamed up with Melbourne vocalist Eloise Thetford, known as Queenie, to form Queenie & Hank. Their self-titled debut album revisits the classic country duet tradition through smoky twang, rich harmonies, and a contemporary sensibility. Inspired by the likes of Nancy & Lee and Dolly & Kenny, the duo brings its own character to the format. Written and recorded at Henry’s Trentwood Studio and co-produced with Damian Cafarella, the album showcases the pair’s natural chemistry, balancing playful moments with a cinematic feel and genuine emotion.
