Melissa Carper brings "Borned In Ya" to Europe for tour in August/September
Wed 23 Apr 2025When Melissa Carper first heard bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley say that music had to be "borned in ya," it lit a fire in her. That phrase stayed with her until it became the heart of her new album, Borned In Ya, out July 19 via Mae Music/Thirty Tigers. Recorded at East Nashville’s Bomb Shelter with trusted co-producers Dennis Crouch and Andrija Tokic, the album showcases Carper’s unmistakable feel for storytelling, groove, and soul — the kind of authenticity you simply can't fake.
Raised in Nebraska on a steady diet of Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Ray Charles, and Jimmie Rodgers, Carper found her voice blending country roots with jazz, blues, and soul. Her earlier albums, Daddy’s Country Gold and Ramblin’ Soul, drew critical praise for their unique vintage flair and helped her build a devoted fanbase who love her cool, timeless sound.
On Borned In Ya, Carper goes even deeper, weaving gospel choruses, honky-tonk swing, and classic R&B into her unmistakable musical fabric. Featuring a powerhouse band and her first-ever horn section, the record marks an exciting new chapter. “I’m blending styles in a way that maybe hasn’t been done before,” she says. We’re thrilled to announce that Carper will take this spirit on the road with a full European tour this August and September — see you out there!
