JUNO-winning folk artist Kaia Kater to play Reeperbahn Festival, announces 2026 European tour
Thu 04 Sep 2025Montreal-born Grenadian-Canadian singer-songwriter Kaia Kater, winner of the 2025 JUNO Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, is heading to Europe this September for the renowned Reeperbahn Festival. Known for her jazz-fueled voice and deft banjo playing, Kaia has earned praise from NPR’s Tiny Desk, Rolling Stone, and The Guardian, captivating audiences with her unique blend of Quebecois, Caribbean, and Appalachian influences.
Her latest album, Strange Medicine (Free Dirt Records/acrönym), released earlier this year, marks a powerful statement on the strength of women and oppressed communities, enriched by cinematic arrangements and collaborations with artists like Taj Mahal and Allison Russell. Alongside her celebrated songwriting, Kaia is also an award-winning film composer, recognized for her work on The Porter and My Dead Friend Zoe.
Following her Reeperbahn appearance, Kaia Kater will embark on a European tour in early 2026, bringing her mesmerizing folk sound to audiences across the continent:
