Joachim Cooder and Adriano Viterbini confirm November tour throughout (Northern) Ireland

Joachim Cooder performed on the now-legendary Havana sessions that became Buena Vista Social Club, and has continued working with many of its musicians on later recordings. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists including Mavis Staples, his father Ry Cooder, Jon Hassell, Tyler Childers, Dr. John, The Haden Triplets, Sam Outlaw, and Ali Farka Touré—an experience that deepened his connection to the mbira. Alongside performing, he has produced albums, composed for film, and created music for dance with choreographer Daniel Ezralow. As a solo artist, he has released Love on a Real Train (2015), Fuchsia Machu Picchu (2018), Dreamer’s Motel (2024), and the instrumental EP We Can Talk from Different Waters (2020).

There is a quiet force to Cooder’s presence—an artist who may not always announce himself, but becomes impossible to overlook once heard. His music feels singular: rhythmically fluid, emotionally vivid, and untethered from conventional structure. Blending percussion, strings, voice, and texture, he creates songs that seem to breathe on their own, existing just outside the usual frame of popular music.

Adriano Viterbini is a guitarist and recording artist based in Rome, mainly influenced by African music and avant-garde. He is best known as founding member of I Hate My Village and as a solo artist and session musician. Viterbini has performed live and in the studio with Jovanotti, Joachim Cooder, Bombino, Rokia Traoré, Nic Cester and JET.
