Joachim Cooder and Adriano Viterbini announce UK tour for January

Joachim Cooder and Italian guitarist Adriano Viterbini will bring their collaborative live show to the UK in January, following a run of dates across (Northern) Ireland in November of this year.

Cooder, a multi-instrumentalist and composer, grew up on the road alongside his father, legendary guitarist Ry Cooder. He began performing at an early age, sharing stages and studios with artists including Johnny Cash, Mavis Staples, John Lee Hooker and the musicians of the Buena Vista Social Club, whose celebrated Havana sessions he also played on.

As a solo artist, Cooder has developed a distinctive sound built from percussion, strings, vocals and the electrified thumb piano. His most recent album, Dreamer’s Motel (2024), explores dreamlike soundscapes that move between folk, Americana and experimental music.

Joining him on the upcoming dates is Rome-based guitarist Adriano Viterbini, best known as a founding member of I Hate My Village. Drawing heavily on African music and avant-garde influences, Viterbini has also worked with artists including Bombino, Rokia Traoré, Jovanotti and Nic Cester.
