Jesper Lindell and The Brunnsvik Sounds: Bospop, Gevarenwinkel and February 2027 tourdates
Thu 25 Jun 2026Swedish soul troubadour Jesper Lindell is set for a busy year as he and The Brunnsvik Sounds are releasing two new albums in 2026: 3614 Jackson Highway, recorded at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama, and Royal, captured at the iconic Royal Studios in Memphis. Both albums were recorded during an ambitious four-day session in September 2024, with the band completing two full albums in just four days across the two historic studios.
The upcoming release Royal, due out tomrrow June 26 via Yep Roc Records, follows the recently released 3614 Jackson Highwayand continues Lindell’s deep exploration of classic Southern soul, gospel, and Americana. The albums feature respectful reinterpretations of timeless songs associated with artists such as Al Green, Otis Redding, The Staple Singers, Dusty Springfield, and Willie Nelson, alongside lesser-known gems from the Muscle Shoals and Memphis songbooks.
“Of course, I don’t believe our versions surpass the originals. But see them as our humble tribute to some of our heroes,” says Lindell. “The experience has developed me and the band enormously. We were one band when we entered Muscle Shoals — and another when we left Royal four days later.”
The recordings were mixed by Boo Mitchell at Royal Studios, while a documentary crew also followed the band during the journey through the American South.
Jesper Lindell and The Brunnsvik Sounds will bring the music to European audiences this summer, including performances on the mainstage of Bospop Festival in Weert, Netherlands, on July 12 and at Gevarenwinkel Festival in Herselt, Belgium, on August 29.
In addition, the band has announced a new run of club shows across the Benelux for February 2027, all dates are on sale now:
