Henry Wagons - a man of many musical expressions - is coming over to the Netherlands in June

Henry Wagons has a unique knack for seizing your attention—onstage, on-air, or onscreen. Equal parts charismatic frontman, thoughtful storyteller, and unfiltered entertainer, he’s one of Australia’s most singular creative forces, straddling music, media, and performance with disarming ease.

Often dubbed a “professor of song,” Henry was once on track to become a philosopher before being derailed by a record deal and a hunger for the stage. Over the past two decades, he’s become a cornerstone of Australia’s Americana/Alt-Country scene, helping ignite the genre’s local rise. With seven records fronting the band Wagons and three acclaimed solo albums, his discography is deep, diverse, and unafraid to walk the darker, more theatrical side of country.

Henry is a man of many musical expressions. Whether commanding a full band, or standing solo with nothing but his baritone and six strings, Henry delivers performances that are poetic, wild, and unforgettable. Equal parts concert, confessional, and cabaret, his shows blur the line between songwriter and storyteller—where raw emotion, dark humor, and sharp wit collide under the spotlight.

As host of the national radio program Tower of Song on Double J (ABC), now in its eleventh year, Henry brings his encyclopedic musical knowledge and signature velvet voice to the airwaves. It remains Australia’s only dedicated Americana/Alt-Country show on a national broadcaster. He’s also a familiar face on Australian TV and digital platforms, having hosted DIG TV, Art Nation, and Keepers of the Flame (a music-meets-BBQ series on Channel 10). His quick wit and natural presence have made him a staple of shows like Spicks and Specks, Rockwiz, and other major music broadcasts.

In 2025, Henry stepped into a new chapter with Queenie & Hank—a collaborative project with rising Melbourne vocalist Queenie. Together, their powerhouse voices navigate a collection of duets that twist through a psychedelic folk turbine and echo the timeless magic of classic pairings like Nancy & Lee or Nick & Kylie. The debut Queenie & Hank album was released in October 2025.
