Henhouse Prowlers return to Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival this year

The Chicago-based quartet—Ben Wright, Chris Dollar, Jon Goldfine, and Jake Howard—have built a reputation for boundary-pushing bluegrass rooted in masterful musicianship, rich four-part harmonies, and a deep commitment to storytelling and shared humanity.
Their latest album, Unravel, produced by Stephen Mougin (Sam Bush Band), highlights a band unwilling to be boxed in, blending modern Americana textures with classic country and bluegrass influences. Onstage, their connection is palpable—ferocious picking, heartfelt narratives, and songs gathered from around the globe make every show a journey.
Having toured 30 countries across five continents through partnerships with the U.S. State Department and their nonprofit, Bluegrass Ambassadors, the Prowlers use music as a bridge between cultures, spreading a simple message: we have more in common than we don’t.
Now they’ve announced their return to the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival, bringing their global spirit and genre-defying sound back to one of Europe’s premier roots gatherings—proof that, 20 years in, the Henhouse Prowlers are still looking forward.
