Gill Landry tours the Benelux with "Cinnamon Canyon Blues"
Wed 22 Oct 2025Gill Landry is a two-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist whose career began as a busker drifting between New Orleans and the Pacific Northwest. A Louisiana native, he immersed himself in the traditions of American folk before joining Old Crow Medicine Show, helping carry the band from van tours to Grammy wins and the Grand Ole Opry. Since stepping away in 2015, Landry has built an acclaimed solo career, releasing six albums that span cinematic grandeur and intimate confession, each marked by poetic lyricism and a restless search for truth. Along the way, he’s collaborated and toured with a wide range of artists, from Laura Marling and Brandi Carlile to Bruce Hornsby and Nathaniel Rateliff.
His latest album, Cinnamon Canyon Blues, was born from unexpected solitude in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, where Landry found himself living in isolation at the start of the pandemic. What began as survival turned into renewal, as he wrote songs shaped by loss, rebirth, and the stark beauty of the land. Recorded in London with Ted Dwane (Mumford & Sons), Paul Frith, and a host of collaborators including Klara Söderberg (First Aid Kit) and Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers, Sting), the record captures both the raw edges of his isolation and the grace that followed. It stands as a portrait of transformation from a seasoned troubadour who continues to reinvent his craft without losing sight of his roots.
