GA-20 will release "ORPHANS" and announces tour dates in March
Tue 28 Oct 2025GA-20 is proud to announce their upcoming album release ORPHANS, dropping worldwide December 5th via Colemine. One of the defining features of Blues upstarts GA-20’s approach to traditional Blues music is their unwavering dedication to playing the songs they love, or as bandleader Matthew Stubbs puts it, “We play the music we would want to hear.” Those in the know have been captivated by the visceral energy the band brings to the heavy Blues arena, and the songs they choose to perform.
Through the years, Matthew Stubbs has played guitar alongside a who’s who of harmonica luminaries, including long-time mentor Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton, James Harman, and Lynwood Slim, among others. The Little Walter classic “My Baby Sweeter” became a favorite during this tenure in his formative years, but in the absence of harp, Stubbs and GA-20 instead lean into dynamic guitar solos, spacious phrasing, and Cody Nilsen’s insistent vocal swagger. It is purely evocative of the signature GA-20 sound fans have come to know and love.
With ORPHANS, the band has assembled a collection of Blues (and Blues-adjacent) tunes that fit handily within that parameter. These are singular tracks heard only at live shows, digital singles released between albums, or simple favorites that the band (Matthew Stubbs – guitar, Cody Nilsen – guitar & vocals, and Josh Kiggans – drums) have been itching to lay down. The fan demand for a proper full-length release of these songs, along with the virtual mandate to showcase Nilsen’s vocals and auxiliary guitar mastery, is realized here in physical form.
