France, Belgium and the Netherlands for HORSEBATH

HORSEBATH is a band shaped by coincidence, constantly searching for the spark that helps them communicate what words alone cannot express. That mindset lies at the heart of their debut album, Another Farewell. What started as a loose idea during a morning jam session gradually transformed into “Hard to Love,” evolving from a Tex-Mex-inspired tune into something none of the members could have crafted on their own. Beneath the song’s vibrant atmosphere runs an undercurrent of melancholy, reflecting the uneasy feeling of remaining somewhere too long while knowing departure is inevitable, even if it strains personal relationships.

The origins of the band are equally rooted in unexpected encounters and shared experiences across Canada. A spontaneous meeting in a parking lot eventually led to long drives through remote landscapes, where their bond grew alongside their music. Life on the road—meeting artists, discovering alternative lifestyles, and spending endless nights driving—helped shape the ideas woven throughout Another Farewell. The album explores themes of leaving and returning, balancing a longing for home with the attraction of constant motion, while drawing from a broad spectrum of musical influences.

As a creative collective, HORSEBATH divides songwriting, vocals, and instrumental roles among its members, continuously experimenting in pursuit of the raw energy found in their live performances. During an intensive ten-day recording session in Montreal, the band leaned into improvisation and embraced a selfless, music-centered process. The outcome is an album guided more by emotion than genre, where adventure, beauty, and heartbreak exist side by side. In the end, Another Farewell captures four musicians united by wanderlust and brotherhood, creating something only possible together.
