Chuck Ragan Europe tour hits Utrecht and Eindhoven in September

Chuck Ragan is finally ready to turn the page on a record years in the making. With Love And Lore, the Hot Water Music frontman delivers his first solo album in a decade, a deeply personal collection shaped by chaos, reflection and resilience. Originally envisioned back in 2016, the album survived postponed sessions, the pandemic and the demands of balancing family life with Ragan’s fly fishing business in Northern California. The result is a record that feels lived-in and honest, carried by the unmistakable grit of Ragan’s voice while pushing far beyond the folk-punk label often attached to his solo work.

Recorded alongside longtime collaborators Todd Beene, George Rebelo and Spencer Duncan, Love And Lore finds Ragan embracing a broader sonic palette without losing the emotional weight that has defined his songwriting for over thirty years. Tracks like “Echo The Halls” and “Wild In Our Ways” lean into richer textures and melodic experimentation, while quieter moments such as “Reel My Heart” reflect on distance, family and the search for peace in an increasingly fractured world. Throughout the album, Ragan confronts heartbreak, exhaustion and hope with the same authenticity that has made him a beloved figure across punk, Americana and folk circles alike.

Fans in the Netherlands won’t have to wait long to hear the new material live. Chuck Ragan will return to Europe in early September for two Dutch shows, bringing songs from Love And Lore alongside favorites from his extensive solo catalog and Hot Water Music classics.
