Chicago quartet Henhouse Prowlers are back in Rotterdam next month
Fri 26 Jun 2026Twenty years in, Henhouse Prowlers are still moving forward with the same restless energy that first put them on the map. The Chicago quartet — Ben Wright, Chris Dollar, Jon Goldfine, and Jake Howard — have built a reputation for pushing bluegrass beyond its traditional edges, anchored by precision musicianship, rich four-part harmonies, and storytelling with real weight.
Their latest album Unravel, produced by Stephen Mougin of the Sam Bush Band circle, blends modern Americana textures with classic bluegrass and country roots. Onstage, that balance snaps into focus — fast, fiery picking, tight vocal blend, and songs that feel gathered from a life spent constantly in motion.
Beyond the music, the band has taken their sound across the world, touring more than 30 countries through their work with the U.S. State Department and their nonprofit Bluegrass Ambassadors. The message remains simple: connection first, borders second.
Now, Henhouse Prowlers return to Europe for another stop at the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival. Two decades on, they’re still proving bluegrass can travel anywhere — and still mean something when it gets there.
