28-04-2025Welsh composer and multi-instrumentalist Cerys Hafana is set to return to Amsterdam this November for a headline performance, following her recent appearance supporting Charlie Cunningham at the iconic Royal Theatre Carré:
15/11: Amsterdam, NL - Tolhuistuin Zonzij
Known for her boundary-pushing work with the Welsh triple harp, Hafana transforms and reimagines traditional music through electronic processing, archive materials, and found sounds. Her critically acclaimed second album, Edyf—named one of The Guardian’s Top Ten folk albums —has solidified her reputation as a fearless and imaginative artist.
Described by The Guardian’s Jude Rogers as a “brilliant triple-harpist” who “continues to dig deep to explore the possibilities of her instrument,” Hafana brings a distinctive blend of ancient Celtic song and modern experimentation to her live shows.
Her work has been celebrated across the UK, with appearances on BBC Radio 2, Radio 3, and 6Music. Folk Radio’s Alex Gallacher calls her “an adept shapeshifter… entwining tradition with direct and personal interpretations,” while Tomos Williams of O’r Pedwar Gwynt notes Hafana’s rare ability to “create atmosphere... and let the music breathe.”
