Angela Autumn to appear at Take Root with new album "Believer"
Wed 01 Jul 2026Appalachian-born, Nashville-based musician Angela Autumn is bringing her distinctive blend of mountain roots and modern sounds to this year’s Take Root Festival. Known as “The Rose of Appalachia,” a tribute to her Allegheny roots and clawhammer banjo skills, Autumn has blossomed into one of the most compelling voices in contemporary folk music.
The festival appearance comes as Autumn follows the release her second album, Believer, out September 11 via Gar Hole Records. The record finds Autumn expanding beyond the traditional sounds of her upbringing, weaving together indie, psychedelia, pop, and gothic country with the mountain music that first shaped her.
Written in the outdoors — from the woods of Tennessee to a rural treehouse in Asheville and a friend’s warehouse in Chattanooga — Believer captures Autumn at a creative peak. The album was made with multi-instrumentalist and producer Baerd (Isaiah Beard) and showcases the full range of her artistry, from intimate folk storytelling to bold, experimental arrangements.
Autumn’s connection to nature runs deep. Raised along the mountains of western Pennsylvania, she channels the landscape’s streams, valleys, and wide-open spaces into her songs. The album’s lead single, “Mountain Stream,” reflects that bond, pairing earthy rhythms and shimmering keys with a powerful meditation on transformation and inner strength.
