Andrea von Kampen releases new song "Rivers" ahead of UK tour
Mon 03 Aug 2026Nebraska singer-songwriter Andrea von Kampen has released a beautifully understated new cover of Rivers, originally written and recorded by Swedish folk artist The Tallest Man on Earth. Available now via Tone Tree Music, the single captures von Kampen's signature intimacy, featuring just voice and guitar recorded live in a single take.
The release reflects a longstanding connection between the two artists, with von Kampen having spent 2023 touring North America as direct support for The Tallest Man on Earth. "So many of those songs stayed with me," she says. "I knew Rivers was one I wanted to carry into my own set."
The new recording follows recent singles These Days and Dogwood Blossom, continuing a prolific run for the acclaimed folk artist. Praised by The New York Times as "a fine singer with guitar work reminiscent of the cult hero Nick Drake," von Kampen has earned an international following through her literary songwriting, warm acoustic sound and captivating live performances. With more than 60 million Spotify streams and acclaimed albums including Old Country, That Spelland Sister Moon, she remains one of contemporary American folk's most compelling voices.
Andrea von Kampen returns to the UK this August for a series of intimate headline performances:
