Cordovas: the East Nashville band you “need to know” is coming to the Netherlands and Belgium

08-08-2017

Everyone in the East Nashville band Cordovas is a lead vocalist. This country-rock group is committed to the sound of brotherhood.

"Cordovas is always about guys singing," Firstman says. "If you removed the mics and sat on the front porch, it should be able to translate. Trade the electric instruments for acoustic instruments and mandolins — that's still the band. Why would you not sing harmony?"

The band – which includes Joe Firstman on bass and vocals, Jon Loyd on keyboard and vocals, Lucca Soria on guitar and vocals, and Graham Spillman on drums and vocals – has earned high praise in reviews from NPR and Rolling Stone Country; the latter declaring the band as a “new country artist you need to know.”

We’re committed to creating something that’s still traditional American music,” says band member Lucca Soria. “We approach our material in the way that people in America have always approached traditional music since the beginning of stringed instruments on the American front porch: picking a good song and singing it together with a shared feeling.

In October, November Cordovas are coming over for a few Benelux shows:

31 Oct: Leiden (NL) - Q-Bus
1 Nov: Oldenzaal (NL) - Cobblestone
2 Nov: Helmond (NL) - Cacaofabriek
3 Nov: Essen (BE) - Heuvelzicht
